Eden Center Marks a New Chapter with Falls Church Police Substation Ribbon Cutting

 In past events

On Wednesday, March 18, Eden Center welcomed community members, business owners, and partners from the Falls Church Police Department for a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony celebrating the renovation and grand re-opening of the police substation located in the Saigon West Mall. The event was a celebration of a partnership that has defined Eden Center’s commitment to safety and community for nearly three decades.

A Memorable Morning at Eden Center

The ceremony drew many important dignitaries including Falls Church mayor Letty Hardi, and Chief of Police Shahram Fard as well as Hoàng Đức Long President of the Vietnamese-American Community of Washington D.C., Maryland & Virginia. (VACDMV). Attendees were treated to short speeches and delicious spring rolls from Eden Center‘s famous Huong Binh DBakery. The ribbon cutting itself was a moment of genuine pride — for Eden Center’s management, its tenants, and the officers and leadership of the Falls Church Police Department who have been on-site partners for years.

Words from Leadership

Douglas Ebenstein, President of Capital Commercial Properties and Eden Center, Inc., had the following statement regarding the ribbon cutting:

“The ribbon cutting marks more than a building renovation. It’s a reaffirmation of what Eden Center has always stood for – a community built on trust, partnership, and shared purpose. The Falls Church Police Department has been a fixture here for decades, and investing in this substation is our commitment to the next chapter of that relationship.”

What Comes Next

The renovated substation is now fully operational, providing a dedicated space for Falls Church Police Department officers within Eden Center. The improved facility strengthens the day-to-day presence of law enforcement on-site and reflects a shared investment in making Eden Center a place where all visitors, tenants, and employees feel safe and supported.

Eden Center is home to more than 120 businesses serving the Vietnamese-American community and visitors from across the Washington metro area. Events like this ribbon cutting are a reminder that the center is more than a shopping destination. It is a community institution, one that takes its responsibilities to the people it serves seriously.

Thank You

Eden Center extends its gratitude to the Falls Church Police Department for their continued partnership, to the tenants and community members who joined us for the ceremony, and to everyone who has supported Eden Center’s mission to be a safe, welcoming home for our community.
